20221014 – Kathmandu

Day 3.

I met a fellow tourer at breakfast and he joined me on the trip to the National Museum – a complex of buildings originally constructed as an art museum.

The first building contained art from around the country.

Early Hindu sculptures

Ganesha – popular in Nepal

Buddha

The second building was art from the Kathmandu Valley

Two additional buildings house the Numismatic museum and the natural history museum. They even had an antique Hudson.

After lunch at a local cafe, we took a taxi to Boudha Stupa in search of postcards. We visited the monastery and parts of the temple we were allowed to enter before walking back to the hotel.

We were fairly certain that this did not
meet OSHA standards
