Our first stop was at Whakarewarewa Thermal Village – the site of a long-term Māori settlement.

Then we rode the Skyline gondola up Mt Ngongotaha for a wine tasting with a great view of the town and lake below.

Dinner tonight was hosted by a local Māori family in their home.
