20230311 Kiwi Park

Return visit to Kiwi Park.

You can’t come to Queenstown and not eat at Fergburger.

After lunch I returned to Kiwi Park for the Live Bird Show and another Kiwi encounter.

Horoeka (Lancewood) tree. The juvenile and mature trees are so different they were originally thought to be different species. Juvenile tree has long leaves and no branches.

Buff Weka are flightless birds that are being bred and released in the wild.

The Tuatara, the last of the sphenodontians, are only found in New Zealand. There are three on exhibit and they were all out today.
