5:30 PM flight out of Queenstown, so I had time to revisit two favorites: Kiwi Park and Fergburger.
The Buff Weka, Kea, and Kaka are notorious for stealing things in the wild. The Kea will also eat rubber around a windshield, or let air out of bicycle tires to cool off.

There was one male Kiwi in the exhibit. He’s big enough to survive in the wild (1.5 Kg) and will soon move to the breeding program or be released in the wild.
The Tuatara is born with a third eye in its forehead which is covered by scales shortly after hatching. It has limited functionality, but can sense changes in light (shadow of a predator).
