Ovos Moles were created by nuns in the 16th century to use leftover egg yolks (egg whites were used to starch clothes). The yolks and sugar are coddled, then whipped in brass pans. A portion is sandwiched between two communion wafers.

The guided tour ended with an exploration of Art Nouveau with a Portuguese twist (ceramic tile) and some information about construction.
