20260907 Centennial Trail

At this point the “river” is pretty much a series of puddles in our neck of the woods.

Further down the trail the river is flowing.

During summer, the level of the aquifer that lies under the river drops. As a result, water from the river seeps into the aquifer and the river “dries up” for a stretch.

At the same time, water is being held upstream for recreational use exacerbating the problem.

Water is released starting the Tuesday after Labor Day, so the river level will rise.
